How To Be Saved

Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Acts 2:21)”. “No man can come to me (Jesus), except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day (John 6:44)”.

People outside looking in think Christians live on a revolving carousel in a fantasy world. With star-filled eyes and empty heads somehow we missed what the rest of the world knows. Huh?

They may jeer at us and ask what are we saved from?

The answer is saved from Aionios Kelasis – eternal death. The opposite of death is Aionios Zoe – eternal life. There are two kingdoms in competition and war for the spirit part of you – the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of satan (Yep, I don’t capitalize his name). satan’s counterfeit kingdom lures you in by working through your five senses (hear, see, feel, taste, and smell). His job is to destroy everything in your life and to keep you from the destiny God has for you.

What Must You Do To Be Saved?

You are a servant to God’s kingdom or satan’s downfall. There are no other choices before you. Choose today who you will serve. Speak the words below directly to God as your heart accepts the life Jesus provided by the atonement at the cross. Just saying the words without a heart change will not make you saved. You must believe what you confess to God.

Jesus:
I believe you are the Son of God and I ask that you come into my life. I receive You as Lord and Savior today and believe You died on the cross and rose from the dead, for me. Thank you for coming into my heart, giving me The Holy Spirit and leading my life.

Read His Word, the Bible, daily because now you are a Child of God! Try to spend at least one hour a day with Him whether in praise, prayer, or studying His Word. As a new Christian, read the book of John first; then read Matthew, Mark, Luke and the Book of Acts. Find a faith believing, Bible preaching church to fellowship with those who also “Live The Word.” If you find yourself slipping a bit, double up on scripture until you sense that you are in His presence of protection. Remember you have a total of 66 books in the Bible to study!

The Meaning of Born Again

Nicodemus, a Pharisee, was sincerely searching for answers. In a conversation with Jesus in John 3, the Lord told him, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” This was a new concept to Nicodemus because he was thinking of a literal birth from the womb.

When you accept Jesus into your heart, you become a new person because sin no longer defines who you are. Jesus tells Nicodemus and every believer thereafter the reason why – “flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.”

Indwelling of the Holy Spirit

There’s a heavenly transfer or download of the Holy Spirit immediately upon conversion into a believer that lasts forever. This significant occurrence represents God’s stamp of acceptance of a believer into His Kingdom and the Body of Christ.

Paul explained in this way in I Corinthians 3:16 – “Do you not know that you are a temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?” You are now a Child of God born of the Spirit and born into righteousness (while living in a sinful body). It’s up to you how much of the Holy Spirit you access.

Baptism of the Spirit

The simplest way to understand the baptism of the Spirit is to see Him silent until you give Him a voice. Because the Holy Spirit is a gentleman, He waits for you to give Him authority to speak through you and enjoy a spiritual fullness or depth you can’t acquire any other way.

A believer decides whether they want to speak in tongues. Contrary to most teaching, speaking in tongues is available to every believer. Yet, the Holy Spirit does not force the gift on you.  This prayer language provides an instant connection to heaven’s counsel. Plus, you can pray in tongues for self-edification (it feels like a fresh cleansing of your soul because your flesh wants to sin). You can cleanse your insides any time you want!

Here’s a suggested prayer to receive the heavenly language.

PRAYER

Thank you for giving The Holy Spirit to anyone who asks. I’m asking for this baptism so I’ll be taught from above throughout life on Earth. I surrender my mouth to You and expect to speak the heavenly language. The utterances You impart to me to overflowing will help me complete the works of Jesus. I am a born-again believer and receive this gift in faith. Amen.

This article lets you know what to expect when praying. Speaking in tongues is how the Holy Spirit communicates through you to bring heaven to Earth so you gain new perspectives and develop the Holy Spirit’s nine fruits of the spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control).
