Cheating Spouse Help Book for Christian Men

I had no idea I’d write a Cheating Spouse Help Book for Christian Men.  Learning about Christian infidelity began when my childhood friend admitted to an ongoing affair. She was pretty cavalier about what she was doing even when both her pastor and husband asked her to stop. 

When she shared the details, I was shocked at how easily she revealed her sin. I didn’t sense any remorse from her about her actions. I even got down to brass tacks and asked her if she intended to stop. She said, “I don’t know.”

Again, I’m sure my mouth flew open in unbelief at her ambivalence over infidelity knowing how much her husband loved her. And, all the while without judging her I thought there is nothing Christian about infidelity or her behavior. I simply knew God’s heart about this sin and there were consequences, especially when sinning blatantly without remorse.

Her story didn’t end well. In a couple of years, her husband died from cancer. I believe he was so heartbroken that it affected his health. That’s exactly what Satan wanted: to kill, steal, and destroy in whatever way he could.

Cheating Spouse Help Book for Christian Men:  Jesus’ Compassion

As I began to write Cheating Spouse Help Book for Christian Men (To Stop Cheating on Her), I felt Jesus’ compassion for both the cheating and the betrayed spouse. He didn’t want me to push a cheater’s face in the dirt but to write about the spiritual root causes of cheating. From that knowledge, Christian men would learn how to identify the spiritual reasons behind why they reach for a woman other than their wife. Here’s an excerpt from the chapter called “Moved By Compassion.”

When we hear that someone messes up, either a loved one or stranger, our natural flesh wants to dunk their head underwater and watch them squirm until they say uncle.

Not so with our Lord and Savior, Jesus.

He walked in a fallen world in a flesh and blood body that felt pain. His compassion defined Him. He purchased you and me with His life knowing people would spit on Him, tear his back to shreds with a whip, and mar Him beyond recognition.

Compassion is what moved Jesus then and now and flows from His Father’s heart. Jesus, the God-man extends grace and benevolence to suffering people as He does to you now. He wants you utterly free of contemptuous sin that taunts your senses because He already suffered on your behalf. His Gospel of salvation settles the score between darkness and light.

By that I mean, your enemy Satan continues to tempt you so you scatter and hide from God. He wants you to believe that you’re helpless and your Shepherd left long ago.

Christian Spouse Help Book for Christian Men

Then, I prayed about how to approach the subject of Christian infidelity and doing more than surviving an affair. How did God want me to present this delicate subject? How could I help both men and women see how Satan captures them first before they ever step away from their marriage vows?

Also immediately, five Infidelity Busters came to mind that were relatable, revelatory, and achievable. God wasn’t the least bit interested in hitting men over the head with a list of “thou shall nots.” He wanted Christ’s compassion to shine through in my words so that these Christian men would repent, change, heal, restore their marriage if possible, and move on. 

At the same time, I knew the heartbreak infidelity causes women surviving cheating and wrote a chapter called, “How Infidelity Crushes Wives.” When married, Christian men commit this sin they not only open the door to Satan and evil but usher in marital destruction. When the Holy Spirit begins to urge them to stop cheating and they hear Him, they feel powerless because this sin poisons and sedates their senses. 

At the end of each chapter, I include personal prayers and study questions, Just know that when writing this book I learned the most as the Holy Spirit unveiled specific tactics Satan uses to destroy marriages.
