Spiritual Food for the Soul Recap
Don’t you love how clearly and succinctly the Holy Spirit spoke through His servants who wrote the Bible? God-inspired scriptures provide precise details on how to live a Christian life and how to help others spiritually.
Use the summary below of the above scripture to start giving away spiritual food for the soul and learn how to help others spiritually.
- Teach others what God taught you: Everyone is on the same journey toward God but we each arrive on a different pathway. Your walk with God isn’t the same as mine. I believe God does that on purpose so we can reach more people for Christ since our experiences with Him are unique.
- Please God and Him alone: This can be a problem when a Christian keeps one foot in the world at all times. God never forsakes His children; whereas, the world embraces people one moment and cancels them in the next. Stick with God regardless of worldly events and influencers.
- Honor God before men: As Isaiah declared in Isaiah 51:12 – “I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you should be afraid of a man who will die, and of the son of a man who will be made like grass?” It’s a good question to contemplate don’t you think?
- Pray effectively: These are days when it’s important to know how to pray because time is short. Pray God’s will by learning to know what He thinks. That happens by spending time with Him, listening for His voice, and meditating each day on His Word.
And a few more suggestions
- Love others: This is a big deal with God because He’s madly in love with His creation. True Christians want what He wants and loving others is high on His priority list.
- Complain—don’t do it!: Life does get hard but going to God grumbling doesn’t cut it. Faith is what moves Him. That doesn’t mean He wants you to be a fake and not be who you are at the moment. He’s also a great comforter. One way to offset difficulties is to be cheerful and joyful. Both traits are contagious and heal your own heart when life overwhelms you.
- Serve others with your gifts: God’s nature is one of generosity which includes giving us spiritual gifts to use for His Kingdom. Cultivate whatever gifts He gives you to benefit others.
Lastly . . .
Feeding your soul with fresh manna from heaven is the perfect way to have an abundance of food to give away. Be picky about what you feed your spirit. Likewise, look out for distractions from Satan so you focus on ANYTHING other than God.
Also, it’s equally important to have an around-the-clock attitude of obedience. Be quick to listen and even quicker to obey what God says. He knows everything so it’s not too smart to ignore what He says. Been there—done that—never works!
