7 Signs God Is Taking You to the Next Level
Once you know what they are, signs God is taking you to the next level are unmistakable.
The Holy Spirit states in Revelation to “come up here” To come up higher with God, you and I must listen to every word He says. When God says come up higher, He’s saying there’s another level just around the corner.
He’s saying to you as He did in Revelation 4:5-6, to not only “come up here” but “come and see.”
What’s behind God’s words?
Signs God Is Taking You to the Next Level
As I go deeper with God, I enter into His presence more often. At this time in my life, I do everything I can think of to go higher with God. When God says come up higher, he wants you to listen to the Holy Spirit and do specifically what He says. You can’t launch out into the deep unless God leads you.
So God enlarges your spirit (if you let Him) to receive more revelation. God knows none of us are high enough and it takes time and effort to grow spiritually.
But there’s good news!
Revelation 4:1 (AMP)
After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice which I had heard, like the sound of a [war] trumpet speaking with me, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things.”
Did you see that? There’s an open door to heaven. We can not only peer through to see what’s on the other side but have free admission to walk through and draw closer to God.
How Do You Go Higher with God?
One day when thinking about this, I asked God, “How is this even possible to come where You are?
His first instruction was to “Dance before me.”
I said, “I can’t dance.”
He said, “You danced in your 20s.”
There’s no debate there. Circumstances helped me to dance. Hormones raged and a live band helped me move faster. My response sounded similar to what Moses and Jeremiah said (I can’t talk and I’m too young).
It’s pointless to debate God.
So, I danced. The more I raised my hands and moved my feet, the lighter my spirit seemed. It did me a world of good! Within seconds, I was closer to God.
That’s what He does. He takes you one step at a time.
Isaiah 48:17 (MSG)
I am God, your God, who teaches you how to live right and well. I show you what to do, where to go.
Follow God and His reality becomes yours.
7 Signs God Is Taking You to the Next Level
- He’s on your mind constantly: You want to be near Him and seek His wisdom for answers to life’s perplexities. Mankind’s frailty is off-putting. You want to align yourself with the solid “Rock” and identify more with your inner man than your surroundings, people, and situations.
- You want to please Him: Drudgery used to define you. Now your eyes are on a new horizon because there’s a passion for God, unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. You get up earlier to spend time with Him or praise and worship Him in the wee hours while the house is quiet. You obey Him no matter what. Crossing over to the next level involves amping up your relationship with Him.
- Your interests change: Sports, gardening, gaming, etc. used to fuel and motivate you. An unsettled feeling dominates every waking moment. You sense God has a new path He wants you to take. You make room for Him in your schedule. Just know that every aimless feeling doesn’t mean God is moving you in a different direction but He may be. You may have a burning desire to study the Bible. Two excellent choices are my Psalm 23 Bible Study and the Book of Ephesians Bible Study.
- You pray more: The deep yearning to pray and enter your secret place doesn’t happen by accident. You sense something up in your spirit equating to God taking you to a different place spiritually. Nothing satisfies you as much as prayer, meditating on scripture, or seeking His will. “Lord, take me to another level” is a frequent prayer.
- You have a burden for God’s Kingdom: God knows how to stir a believer’s heart—the ones genuinely interested in serving Him. You look for ways to bless others, pray for strangers, and are sorrowful over worldly rampant sin. You feel burdened when God keeps confirming something in your heart. That’s a clear sign you’re about to enter a new season.
- You feel God pushing you: Every step you take seems like you are heading in the wrong direction. That’s what Jonah did. Everything he thought, said and did was contrary to what he knew God wanted from Him. If that’s where you are, back up to when you detoured from God and start over. Getting comfortable with where you are means you probably reside in spiritual stagnation mode.
- You are afraid too often: Transitioning to a new level with God is scary. When God wants us to go higher, it usually requires a different level of faith. When God is bringing you into a new season, you’re about to learn something new. It’s an exciting and uncertain time.
Come Up Higher!
Look for the signs God is taking you to the next level. Something good feels like it’s ready to explode on the scene. You’re ready for change. Your spirit housed in a flesh body senses God is about to release His best in your life so you can live in the freedom Christ died to give you.
It’s tempting to help God along when nothing happens. Keep waiting, praying, surrendering, and focusing on what God wants. In due time, everything will fit together like a puzzle. God knows what He’s doing and is with you every step of the way when you change course.
